EATING AT DISNEY'S
CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE
DISNEY-SMILES HOME
DISNEYLAND RESORT FOOD AND DINING
California Adventure at Disneyland is kind
of strange mix of theming. Most visitors who go to Disneyland come from
California. A large percentage even hold season passes. So why would
people who live in California want to visit a park that is all about
California. But there is enough in DCA to keep it interesting for while
but it pales in comparison to Disneyland Park right across the way. Same
goes for the food. Lots of places to eat but as near as I can tell, none
of them are very interesting, then again, there is at least one dining
establishment I'd still like to try.
So here is a list of places to eat at
Disney's California Adventure again with a few personal comments. Each
establishment has a link back to its official page at the Disneyland
website. If you would like a comment added let me know!

Casual Dining
Wine
Country Trattoria We had an
excellent dinner here on a recent visit and watched the Pixar Play
Parade. Specializing in a limited menu Italian cuisine, Lisa and I were
very pleased and satisfied. Wine by the glass can be pricey and the
serving small.
Character Dining
Ariel's
Grotto
Lots of characters and fun for kids but the meals can be very disappointing.
Ate here twice - the first time I absolutely hated my meal so learning my lesson
on my second visit, I stuck to a Chicken Caesar Salad which was good but almost
everyone else hated their meals. The menu has now changed and is more
Mediterranean inspired. At the Grotto, it's all about the princesses.

Cucamonga Mexican Grill, hosted by Mission Foods This
place has been fairly decent but can also be really bad. In the process of
moving to the location the was formerly the Lucky Fortune Cookie. Beer and
margaritas are served near by.
Corn
Dog Castle Huge corn dogs but a touch greasy. I prefer the corn
dogs from the red wagon, Main St hub, Disneyland. This place is scheduled to
close June 1, 2009 and will not re-open until spring 2011 when the Little
Mermaid ride opens.
Fairfax

Pacific

and interesting sandwiches & desserts make this a pretty good place to
eat. One of the few.

Downtown Disney for better pizza.
Rita's

strong but a cold margarita on a hot day is never a bad thing.

Taste
Pilots' Grill Run of the mill cafeteria dining with a strange
