And so our trip to Disneyland came and went in the blink of an eye. Like most trips that involve large numbers of people (and there were 16 of us) not everything worked as planned. Young Mr. Lucas went down for the count getting sick along with his dad and had to cut their trip a day short. Denise had a cold also during the trip but somehow she persevered. The rest of the gang somehow fought through the lines and the crowds and endured our adventures in the Magic Kingdom. When I look back on my personal experiences over the 5 days I have to say I had a wonderful time so my thanks to all. Let's go.....
Lisa, Nancy, Joseph, Tim, and I were up at 3am to catch a 6:30 flight. Yikes that's early.... We flew Aloha Airlines...some year we may skip the Disneyland part, stay on the plane and head right for Hawaii. The price would probably be about the same...
Everyone stayed at the Tropicana across from the Disneyland Main Entrance. For the record - the room was on the small side and the rollaway bed we used had to block the front door. There was no bathtub - shower only - small kids take baths. We stayed on the second floor on the opposite side of the of where the elevator were meaning the all the luggage had to be carried up and down the stairs. On the other hand the price is reasonable, very close to a McDonalds, and the walk to Disneyland main entrance is short. Is it worth the extra money needed to stay at the Disneyland Hotel or Grand Californian? It all depends. The Disneyland Hotel goes under major renovation next year. I wonder if you will get a price break.....
This is the first picture that was taken inside the park. I took it. Lisa had to stay back at the hotel for awhile since she got off the plane not feeling well which unfortunately was a bit of a theme throughout the trip.
In the 1600's Pirates were bloodthirsty murderers and torturers with no regard for anyone's life. Somehow 400 years later, all is forgiven and prominently displayed in America's favorite theme park.
And of course there is still....
These pictures are from our trip over to Pirates Lair.....well worth the trip.
Yes I made it over to Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island (although Tom is nowhere to be found anymore). I had to go there. It was on the checklist. How did I do with the checklist? Click HERE to find out.
In early November the park transitions to its Christmas season. We were about a week early for the official Disneyland Christmas opening but decorations were prominently displayed throughout the park.
Lot's more Disney Pictures to go. Click the "Next" below to get to more adventures.
