DISNEYLAND 2004

DISNEY-SMILES HOME

We made this trip in February 2004.  A trip to Disneyland in February can be risky business because believe or not, it can actually rain in Southern California.  We caught something of a break as it only rained one morning during a 5 day trip.  And rain in Disneyland isn't necessarily a bad thing because it can keep the crowd levels down (it can also close some attractions).  This was a trip made with Lisa's daughter Summer, her husband Jason, and the kids Kaileigh and little Jason who all flew in from Maryland for their week of Disney fun.  Lisa, Tim, and I met them at the John Wayne airport and we all headed over to the Disneyland Hotel.

On our way from and the airport and to the Disneyland Hotel.

This trip featured a couple of opportunities for character dining.  These pictures are from the Goofy's Kitchen breakfast buffet at the Disneyland Hotel.  It's a little pricey but a lot of fun for kids.  Make sure you have the cook make you an omelet.  At these prices, make them work for it.  All in all, the food was good!

Then we had a character dinner at Ariel's Grotto.  It isn't as crowed in here as Goofy's Kitchen so it seemed there was more time and opportunity to interact with the characters.   Little Jason and Kaileigh  loved it!  The meals are served as 3-course price fixed.  Mine was dreadful but everyone else seemed to like theirs.

Of course there is always catching up with characters in the parks.

There's always a favorite Disney pastime - waiting in line.  Tim was under adult supervision to get on Alice in Wonderland.

We did actually go on rides.

And kids being kids......

And everyone met up with Great Grampa, Vivian, and Taryn for breakfast before leaving.

It was a good week.  The kids had a great time.  Living so far away, for the longest time, Kaileigh thought the we actually lived in Disneyland.  We all should wish......

One note about the rain in Disneyland.  Tim slipped and took a nasty fall outside of Mickey's House in ToonTown.  An unscrupulous person would have had him stay on ground and cry like a baby then - Woo Hoo! - lifetime season passes.  We didn't.  He shook it off and we moved on.  Darn.
