Purpose For This Trip

In July 2005, I was able to spend my 50th birthday in Disneyland which coincidentally was celebrating it's own 50th birthday.  A large group of us made the trip down staying in a suite at the Disneyland Hotel and the whole thing was a lot of fun with much of it made possible by my sister Nancy.  She turns 50 this year and we tried for the longest time to pull off a similar event but just couldn't do it.  With severe economic problems in the world and a lot of personal uncertainty for many of us, the time and expense of a large family trip just couldn't be pulled off.

But we just couldn't let the Disney idea die and we knew this is where Nancy would like to be.  Lisa and I are annual pass holders (at least until November) and for her birthday, we decided to get Sis an annual pass of her own (while expensive, they really are a pretty good deal).  With an annual pass in hand, a big part of the expense of the trip is out of the way and your down to transportation, lodging, and food.

So we're driving down (while gas prices are going up, it still is the cheapest way for 3 people to get down there).  We got a pretty good deal for a room at the Candy Cane Inn which Lisa and I love.  And for food, we'll make a few concessions and try to eat on the cheap.

So Nancy is going to be in Disneyland on her 50th birthday and there will be parades and fireworks just like there should be.

For Lisa and I, one of our main objectives is to get more video to add to our already extensive picture collection and just add to the memories.
