Back to the room and watched the fireworks from the balcony

Highlights of the Day

Nancy made some fine tuna salad and egg salad for the trip.  A simple thing like eating sandwiches a few times probably saved us about $50.

First view of Mickey's Fun Wheel.

Being able to see the fireworks from our balcony.

Lowlights of the Day

It is a long drive - about 6 and a half hours.

Crowds - long wait times in many lines.

Celebration is this year's theme at Disney Parks including celebrating of the release of the newest Disney-Pixar release "Up".  The "Up" house was in the esplanade and this photo was taken on Monday.  By the time we left on Friday, the house was gone.

CROWDS - The crowds were absolutely huge on Monday and Tuesday.  Little did we know that these were the last two days special Southern California pass holders could get into the park before their summer blackout period which lasts through July.  Something to remember.  One of the Disneyland cast members told Lisa that on Tuesday there were 70,000 people in Disneyland and 30,000 in California Adventure.

Last year the queue lines for Pirates and Haunted Mansion were 5 to 10 minutes.  On this trip, they were about 30 minutes.  Got to stand in different areas of the queue lines that I haven't been to in years including the Haunted Mansion "graveyard".

There's never a line to ride Winnie the Pooh so we made our way over to Critter Country.  I wasn't so much interested in the ride as I was to see if I could find the characters from the Country Bear Jamboree that are still mounted to the wall in the exact same place they have always been since 1972 when the Country Bear Jamboree opened.  Yep, they are still there but you have to be seated in a part of the ride vehicle where you can look behind you and up when as you enter the honey room.  Getting a good picture would be next to impossible.

We wanted to get over to California Adventure to get a seat for the Electrical Parade but an hour before the scheduled start, there was nothing anywhere.  Instead we went over to get the pictures of the amazing Mickey's Fun Wheel.  Just beautiful in the night.
